The Power of attending a Martial Arts Retreat can not be underestimated. Whether for a few weeks or a number of months, consistent practice and being immersed in a positive training environment allows students to make great gains fast. By practicing together, sharing discoveries, knowledge and past experiences, students take part in a “vulcan mind meld” of sorts. This helps each participant level up, and move to the next level.
Evolution comes from retreat settings
Evolution can come from retreat settings because whatever Martial Art you practice, whether grappling, striking, or fine tuning weapons forms or applications, etc. They effectively focus the mind and body, without distraction. A martial arts retreat provides a perfect catalyst for growth by stripping away all the inessential. When this is combined with travel i.e. a new environment or frame of reference it allows you to be more open, therefore relaxed allowing greater freedom to learn and experience new possibilities. Growth that is often impossible to gain when stuck in the rut of daily ingrained habits.
My experience
In my experience martial arts retreats have served me well. I have attended many over the years of various lengths. The best have always been the longest so that they allow time for the change and growth that I have desired to take place or for the techniques/ lessons learned to take hold. Their power is not just in the teachers/coaches or masters that lead the retreats, but in the collective power and inspiration of the participants and ultimately the hard work you, yourself, put in. There is no doubt that the powerful combination of travel, martial arts, top coaches, and participants have helped change my life in so many positive ways.
What I’ve learned
I’ve learned is there are so many people out there interested in making real positive shifts in their lives. They are looking for growth, and to be able to progress fast in a positive environment where they can make real gains in either their martial arts, and or their physical or spiritual bodies. Martial arts is for me the fastest and best way to make this happen. However, with a little tweaking they can be so much better, and well rounded in a way that can make a positive impact of those suffering from anxiety, addictions, as well as physical, and emotional problems.
