Can I take time off from training to travel?
All participants of Kung Fu classes will have every weekend off, so they can explore or travel. All of our programs and schools are located in fabulous, historical locations, so there is much to see. In addition to weekends, public holidays are also an excellent time for our gap year participants to travel. If this is something that you would like to do, please discuss this with your SMA advisor. They will be happy to assist you with ideas and tips for making the most out of your travel.

Do I need previous martial arts experience?
Learning Kung Fu with SMA does not require any prior martial experience. All you need to do is empty your cup, harness your sense of adventure, be enthusiastic and committed. Turn martial arts and adventure travel into your catalyst to greater awareness and self-growth.
I am worried about traveling alone. Will I meet other cool people during the experience?
Most of our Kung Fu classes participants travel alone, but you're likely to meet people going to the same destination just after arrival. We'll do our best to put you in contact with other SMA students through one of our SMA Facebook groups before your departure.
What is included in the program cost?
In addition to finding the best place to learn Kung Fu in China, our services include pre-departure advice, free consultation, SMA information pack, 24/7 support from a local coordinator, 3 meals per day, tuition, optional extra classes, accommodation, language learning materials, and selected discounts.
What is not included?
Program cost does not include international and domestic flights, visas and vaccinations, travel insurance, personal expenses, and local transport. However, we can help you arrange these before your departure or make suggestions for you to find the best place to learn Kung Fu in China.
What will the accommodation be like?
School accommodations offer various levels of comfort. Most of them are fairly basic and are shared. However, there will be no more than 1 or 2 roommates, and they will not be of a different sex. Should you wish to have a room of your own, this can be arranged for additional costs.
How can I book?
You can book online, via email or by SKYPE: StudyMartialArts.Org. To secure your place and receive an invitation letter, you'll be asked to pay your application/booking fee through PayPal. The rest of your fee does not need to be charged immediately and can be paid after your arrival or through the international bank transfer. You can receive bank details on request.
